Founded by Nancy Dunleavy in 2001, Dunleavy & Associates is a professional services firm that builds capacity, confidence and bottom lines for nonprofit organizations. While we do from time to time "consult," we are not a traditional consulting firm. We provide direct services and work side by side with all our clients as their partners.

Diverse Services, Diverse Clients

Dunleavy & Associates provides project management, contracted leadership, and advisory services to charitable organizations and the foundations and companies that support them. Whether you have short term needs (such as event management for your annual fundraiser, creating and implementing a PR strategy, or developing a strategic plan) or long-term assignments (interim CEO or restructuring and staffing your development office), Dunleavy & Associates provides your one-stop solution.

Our client list includes health and human services agencies, arts and culture organizations, foundations, colleges and schools, economic development organizations and professional organizations.

We have an outstanding network, a friendly team of respected experts and a fun-loving spirit that makes going that extra mile a little easier.

Our Commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

Dunleavy & Associates recognizes and affirms the high priority our clients place on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in the workplace and in mission delivery. Even more, we are committed to seeking out, nurturing, and empowering a wide array of perspectives and experiences represented within the common ground of our humanity. We believe equity represents access to the best talent and the greatest outcomes. We believe diversity is a priceless gift. And we believe an inclusive team is a stronger team, for ourselves and for the communities we serve.

We recognize the different lenses we all wear in our walk through life and embrace our responsibility to seek understanding from different perspectives. We believe that our differences make us stronger and better able to be a force for good with each other, our clients, and in the world. The rich diversity of the Dunleavy team is present not only in our differences in age, gender, race, and ethnicity, but also in our learning and communication styles, faith traditions, and career paths. We are enriched by the different choices we have each made in our lives in terms of where we live, how we vote, and who we love. Our respect for each other drives us to learn from each other’s lived experiences, challenges, wins, and losses.

We embrace EDI as a journey that we are on rather than a destination that we have reached. To quote PANO’s Standards for Excellence® in equity, diversity and inclusion, “As nonprofit practitioners, we may not always get it right, but we are on the right path if we work to be aware of our own cultural lens and the impact it has on our perceptions, relationships and ways of knowing.” As we undertake that journey together, Dunleavy Team members not only receive professional development in EDI, but also continue to challenge each other in accountability to this shared commitment. The Dunleavy environment cultivates EDI through a learning and inquiring culture in which it is safe and even expected to challenge assumptions. Appreciation for each other’s differences is embedded in our corporate culture as we seek to best serve our clients.

The two non-negotiable common denominators for the members of the Dunleavy team are talent and heart. We bring all that we’ve got to our diverse array of client engagements because they deserve it. The mission-focused organizations we serve do outstanding work making an impact for good in this world. Because they are making a difference, we need to bring our best differences forward in service to their best outcomes.
